Marc and I flew to Atlanta, GA for our consultations with Dr. John Armitage Rusca.  He will be performing our upcoming, televised surgeries.  We have corresponded with Dr. Rusca for about 5 or 6 years and finally got to meet he and his wife, and of course his lovely staff!

While we were out there we met up with a few of the girls from the sites.  We met up with Marty from the Breast Reduction site who is such a doll!  She helps the girls on the BR site with their research and support and is all around just a fantastic person!  Her husband, David, came along as well and he is such a great sport--having to listen to us talk about bobs, and tummies and lips, etc. lol!  Marc really appreciated Dave coming to the luncheon!

We also met up with Kimberly from the BA board who is such a sweetie!  Kim is truly kind and generous, she drove all the way out there by herself and she never drives in that area so it took her a bit to get there. We were just so thrilled she showed up!

Lisa, who is a blast! came a long and just cracked us all up, She will definitely tell it like it is and is such a fantastic lady.  She lost 180 lbs, had her nips and tucks and grabs life by the ears and drags it where she wants it to go.  She is a skydiver, a scubadiver and an all around trooper!

We all met at the Cheesecake Factory late afternoon and had some cocktails and wonderful food!  I always love going to CF!

On the way to the airport at around 6 PM, we came across what we thought was a run of the mill traffic jam.  Boy were we wrong. We started noticing that other than the traffic we were stuck in, there was NO traffic going the other direction.  We thought it must have been a very bad accident until news came on the radio that there was a jumper on the overpass.  They shut down both sides of the Interstate, which is like 12 lanes of traffic.  Of course as luck would have it, the exits right before and after the airport were closed.

They were being especially careful this time since the last time it took 9 hours to end the fiasco, due to the crowd chanting "jump"  Well, the last guy did so this time they weren't taking any chances.  But this time, however, the overpass wasn't very tall and the cops parked box trailers under the overpass so he wouldn't have to fall very far.  Even if he would have jumped he would have maybe broken a leg.  Incidentally we missed our flight after the first hour.

They talked him down after about 3 1/2 hours but before then the intelligent people running things decided to turn ALL of the south bound traffic, north going the wrong way on the free way.  So this created a  huge ordeal and as luck would also have it, the freeway began moving the normal direction after half of the Interstate was turned around facing traffic.

Kim was in back of me so she got to turn around and drive down the shoulder, as instructed and get off at a closer exit.  We talked on our phones until mine started to go dead.  I talked to Marty on the phone and she said we could stay by her house if we missed our flight.  She is such a doll!! Thank you Marty!

So here we are standing on the Interstate, getting ready to check the boards, talking to Kim on the phone, etc.

We missed our flight as did everyone else who was on the freeway.  The girl at the Southwest counter said that the majority of the people on their flights didn't make it.  She directed us to the Red Roof Inn since there was no return flight until 8:30 am the next day.  They even gave us $50. off of our room.

North Grand Canyon Lake Mead

We made our flight back perfectly fine and got a great pic of the northern edge of the Grand Canyon and also Lake Mead, which at the present time is about 30 feet lower than normal because of the drought.
